The authorities are taking different measures to overcome the energy crisis in the country. A US-based company known as SkyElectric has taken an initiative to provide smart energy solutions to Pakistan.
The company has a plan of deploying systems by the end of March 2017.
At Marriot Hotel Islamabad, SkyElectric launched its Smart Energy System in Pakistan on 27th February 2017. Many influential personalities belonging to the government, energy sectors, homeowners, academia, corporate executives, builders and green architects were in attendance at the event.
The presentation by the CEO, Mr. Ashar Aziz, started off with a presentation on the energy crisis which has engulfed all the developing countries. He explained why this system will play a huge role in becoming the building block of clean power infrastructure.
In his presentation, he also demonstrated how the Smart Energy System had a number of features allowing it to be the most advanced solar energy and storage system in the worldwide market.
The audience was treated to a live demonstration of the system in which they saw the multiple features of the heart of the system called Smart Energy Console. It is responsible for performing all the functions.

The Smart Energy System actually integrates the technology with a solar grid system. This integration results in high-quality, clean, and cheaper source of energy. Putting it in simple words, this system is a perfect substitute for generators and UPS.
The Smart Energy System is a complete solution and consists of the following parts:
- Smart Energy Inverter
- Smart Energy Storage
- Solar Panels
- Network Operations Center
It has been equipped with a storage management system software and a mobile application as well.
Boasting a touch screen interface, the Smart Energy Console uses it to give insight into the operations of the system. To allow the relay of information to the SkyElectric Cloud, the console comes with a built-in 3G chip and Wi-Fi connectivity.
In the Network Operations Center, the technical support personnel have access to the cloud and they can easily monitor the system, diagnose the faults and then overcome them.
Additionally, they have launched a SkyElectric App which allows the users to access the same features offered by the Smart Energy Console.
SkyElectric is relying on the technology which is being used by the growing economies for better and cleaner future. A three per kilowatt-hour (kWh) solar power system will approximately cost around 1 million Pakistani rupees.
The company has also introduced solar energy between 20 to 30 per kWh which are suitable for the small and medium sized industries in developing countries. The solar power system comes with a backup support system as well.
The approximate price of different SkyElectric packages are as follows:
- 3kW – PKR 998,000
- 5kW – PKR 1,380,000
- 10kW- PKR 2,440,000
- 20kW- PKR 4,880,000
- 30kW – PKR 6,595,000
