Pakistan Software House Association (P@SHA), country’s preeminent software house, held its 10th Annual ICT Awards Ceremony in Karachi.
Individuals and Companies applied in 17 product categories and 15 local categories. 120 participants were nominated across products and services categories, 90 of whom were shortlisted. Judgment was carried out across three cities by three panels of judges in light of APICTA guidelines. Two demo days were held in Karachi and Lahore. Afterwards in two rounds of final selection, winners and runner ups were identified at the awards judging secretariat.
Finally, on 15th November 2016 Darbar Hall at the Movenpick Hotel in Karachi was filled with participants and attendees eager for the announcements of the winners. About 500 registered participants along with the guests, including leading tech aristocrats, government officials and representatives from the business sector and academia, attended the event.
The award ceremony was a celebration of the progress, excellence, and innovation of ICT industry and a recognition of the high achievers of IT and ICT sector.
“The idea behind organizing the P@SHA ICT Awards every year is to celebrate homegrown Pakistani innovators. The Pakistan IT industry has been growing steadily over the years, and it is essential for us to tell the world that Pakistan is a country where young innovators transform their ideas and dreams into products that have been solving business and community problems.”, said Jehan Ara, President of P@SHA
The ICT Award not only brought national and international recognition to the software and service application engineers but also served as a platform for them to collaborate with each other and form business alliances for better progress and growth in the tech industry. It also provided an opportunity to the investors and venture capitalists to assess and invest their holdings in the technology industry and further the advancement of IT and ICT sector in Pakistan.
“The goal of P@SHA is to provide software and IT service companies with a collaborative platform where they can come together as a force to network, to brainstorm and to come up with solutions collectively,” said Chairman P@SHA Naseer Akhtar.
The winners of ICT Awards from the product categories will now represent Pakistan at the Asia Pacific ICT awards (APICTA) where the participants will compete against representatives from 17 countries. APICTA will be held in Taiwan this December.
